Create and teach course content for sections of “English Composition,” “Writing and the Literary Arts,” “Introduction to Creative Writing,” “Creative Writing and Magazine Production,” and “Advanced Short Fiction Seminar.”

Develop and teach class on Andre Dubus’s short story “Townies” that focuses on bridges and crossings as a central metaphor, and on the use of the compare/contrast technique in building a piece of fiction.

Utilize three versions of the song “Cat’s in the Cradle,” including a poorly received rap version, to build students’ confidence in their critical discussion abilities, and to illustrate the difference in criticism focused on the text exclusively versus criticism which incorporates biographical details.
