Book Synopsis

Down the Cape tells the story of Michael Silver’s bold attempt to reunite his extended family eleven years after an event that he jokingly refers to as “The Great Schism.” Set in 2000-2001, amidst preparations for Michael’s wedding, it looks back at the 1990s through the eyes of four cousins: the flighty painter, who can’t make up his mind about who he wants to be, and who he wants to be with; the guitar-playing songstress strangled by fear and family obligations; the stripper who will do anything for a buck (but she won’t do that); and the writer who will stop at nothing to set the story straight (not even arson or breaking and entering).
